Denver police arrested a 21-year-old in connection to a downtown shooting that wounded four people last weekend.
Damion Britt is being held on suspicion of four counts of attempted murder in connection with the shooting early Sunday near the intersection of 20th and Market streets, police said Thursday.
Denver police initially identified Britt as the suspected gunman but several hours later released an update that he was no longer believed to be the shooter but was still suspected of being involved.
Detectives say an unidentified suspect opened fire after a verbal fight escalated, hitting the other person involved in the fight and three bystanders. Police are still working to identify and find that person.
The intersection where the shooting happened is a few hundred feet south of Coors Field and on the edge of Denver’s Union Station and Five Points neighborhoods.
Anyone with information about the case can contact Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.
